This family... Warm. Loving. Fun. Joyful. Cheeky. It was such a pleasure to be in their presence and to capture a snippet of the love and closeness that they share. There was cuddling and dancing. Hiding and chasing. Quiet and loud. Tickles and stillness.
We made a last minute change of location due to threatening weather and I am so glad that we did. Our new setting was gorgeous and suited these little girls perfectly! I loved photographing and editing this session and by the end I felt like I'd made some new friends. xx

Alex has grown so much since I first met him as a tiny newborn. I love being able to watch little people grow up in front on my lens! Alex is full of character and spunk. We had a lovely afternoon playing at the park and rummaging in the bush with his best friend, Josie the dog and his parents. Can't get enough of those big blue eyes and dimples!
When Nic, a workmate of mine approached me asking if I could take some photos of her extended family, the answer was always going to be yes. Her husband's family were gathering in Melbourne to celebrate several big birthdays and Mother's Day was coming up too, which meant a perfect time to update the photos. Lucky for us, the ANZAC Day weather was perfect as well!
A personal highlight of this session was to watch how this family related to each other. They were so relaxed and is was a delight for me to observe the warmth and fun of their interactions. Twins, E and K have just turned 5 and they have changed so much since I first met them, as tiny premmies dependent on oxygen! Right now they are best friends, full of life and energy as you will see below. Thank you Rheumer's for letting me share in your family on this day. x I had such fun photographing these guys- I'm not sure that I've giggled so much in a session before! Parents, Sonia and David with their children Bella and Ben were so full of energy and spunk which lead to a wonderfully energetic session. Some special moments were captured when we took a breather from all the laughing and games during our session too. What a treasure to remember this session and this lovely family tonight.
Back in December I offered a limited number of mini-sessions in the lead up to Christmas. It so happened that two sisters booked in and we made the most of taking some photos of them together for the start. It was such a pleasure to photograph and get to know this this beautiful family for a mini-shoot back in December. From the moment we met it was fun and relaxed, with El keen to show me her dinosaur and get started with the photos! Pat was full of gorgeous smiles and I just LOVE the cuddly moments that were captured between the kids and their loving parents. Caroline and little Nina were so easy to capture as well. Those beautiful eyes and smiles from both girls were so delightful to see and photograph. I especially love being able to get mums and their children in photographs together as so often they are the ones capturing everyone else.
On a crisp early December morning ! headed to the park to photograph these two proud siblings and their new baby brother with their nenek and datok. There was exploring in the bush, stick light sabers, cheeky tongue poking and lots of cuddles- the perfect ingredients for a happy family session.
Patrick's mum contacted me wanting to have some updated head shots taken of him. We met for a mini-session and I am so delighted with the moments that were captured. From his serious faces, his trademark tongue, cheeky smile and sparkly eyes, Patrick is such a cutie!
There's nothing like having a photo of your family hanging in your home, or even just knowing that there is an image safely stored in an album or a bedside frame recording what your family is like now. This daughter knew how much her mother would value a photo of her family and surprised her with an extended family portrait to celebrate a birthday.
It was a glorious morning with everyone relaxed as the kids played at the park and when we later pottered in the bush. Cousins playing together, aunties and uncles with Oma and Opa just enjoying being together. Oma now has a beautiful collection of natural photos of her family, enjoying being with her and one another. That is a priceless gift! Little P is a long waited for little fighter! She lives with her beautiful parents and her four legged sister, Rosie, in the city and it's easy to see why she is so adored. Despite being ready for bed, she was happy to go with the flow, playing on the floor, kicking back with some milk and a snooze in daddy's arms during our session. It was so lovely photographing this family in their home, where everyone is relaxed and comfortable. I think that it is so precious to have photos taken in your home and to look back in the years ahead to see what has changed and what stays the same.
Is there anything better than getting out of town on a hot, Spring day than spending some time in the country for a simple picnic with those you love? I don't think so. Here are my little loves just the other day, enjoying the sunshine and a field of grass almost as tall as them! These were taken just down the road from where my husband and I were married a little over 6 years ago. I think that photos like these will make me a little homesick for 'life right now' in the future. xx
